JOB DESCRIPTION
The Quality Assurance Engineer role serves as a subject matter expert (SME) and is responsible for ensuring that our external and internal requirements for software products and services are met for a large, diverse, and complex project in the Hyperscale Data Center industry. This role requires excellent communication, organization, and critical thinking skills. The applicant must be well organized, perform tasks with precision and attention to detail.
Specific responsibilities include:
- Engages actively in the software development lifecycle for the system, performing quality assurance activities to ensure quality product delivery.
- Works independently with little to no direct supervision in performing analysis, diagnosis, and testing of custom web applications and services.
- Technical documentation of hardware/software additions or changes as needed.
- Development of test methodologies and plans for new product functions/features under development.
- Isolates, reproduces, and tracks software issues and verifies fixes.
- Maintain and modify test environment and configurations as needed, creating new test environments and configurations to meet test case or problem recreation requirements.
- Document test results and manage defects and test case repositories to assist in the continuous improvement and modification of software.
- Be flexible and able to switch context by prioritization and urgency.
- Acts as the escalation point for all testing related issues, provide the QA perspective, status reporting and escalate issues to responsible stakeholders, as well as ensure standard, and consistent, QA processes are followed.
- Other project/customer work as required from time to time.

REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS
- 3+ years of professional experience as a test engineer with experience testing both software and hardware.
- Experience working with .NET web applications, services and applications.
- Experience working with Microsoft Internet Information Services (IIS).
- Experience with basic Microsoft SQL Server functions (example: running queries, scripts and restoring databases).
- General networking knowledge in an Enterprise environment, understanding of ports, protocols and services and firewall rule configuration.
- Experience with Windows Desktop and Server environments.
- Experience with Configuration management, defect tracking, test plans, test protocols, and test execution.
- Working familiarity with MS Office 365. PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS
- Knowledge of the Data Center and/or Telecommunications industry.
- Experience with Test Automation tools.
- Experience working with Amazon Web Services

EDUCATION/CERTIFICATION
- Degree in Computer Science, IT or related discipline preferred, but not required.
